Default A couple of 'issues'.

Had to drive to Bristol today, and there were a couple of problems. The first being quite simple, I seem to have lost the bolts to the fuel tank heat shield, so that is now just hanging on the exhaust. I need the bolts quickly and was wondering if maybe someone had some I could buy, and preferably get sent quicker than rimmers?

2nd is a bit more worrying, I was approaching a roundabout ready to get onto the M40, and the FNS wheel hit a bit of a pothole. Nothing huge, no more noticeable than any other pothole, but when it hit, the passenger door opened, onto the latch. what makes it a bit worse is that the doors were locked so somehow this bump made the door unlock, and open. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

When auto locking is engaged aren't the locks designed to disengage upon impact? Helps others get you out if you are unable to do so alone in event of an accident.

I thought I'd read somewhere that they unlock in the event of a crash, but it was just the 1 door. I'm not certain it actually unlocked either, I hit the bump and heard the rush of air going past a partly open door, and the light on the dash came on. but when I looked at the door, the little bit that pops up when the doors unlocked was still hidden in the door. It wasn't until I leaned over to open the door properly to then close it again that the bit popped up. But I only had to pull the handle once, instead of the usual 2 pulls if its locked?

The bump wasn't even very bad, had it not been for the door opening I wouldn't have noticed it anymore than any other bump. Certainly made me drive a bit warily!

If the heat shield is dangling, its quite often the bolts will still be there (had this on mine). All that happens is the aluminum of the heat shield has sheared around the bolt head due to corrosion/age/vibration.

Just pop a really big washer on with the bolt & its sorted (this is what i did with mine)
