Default Rover 75 Probs

Hi Everybody

I have a Rover 75 Connoisseur which is a great car but I have a couple of problems that I hope one of you can resolve. The faults I have are as follows:
  1. Can the handbreak be adjusted.
  2. I put the rear seats down the other day and the seat belts appears to have jammed and will not allow the set to be put back to its original position.
  3. When standing in traffic the car makes a whooshing sound like a trumpet. This only lasts for a few seconds but does not sound great.
Any help would be appreciated.

2-You need to release the tention on the belt, try and put some weight on the seat while pulling the belt.

3-I rekon your slow speed on cooling fan has failed which is not good. Could be low gas as said but I bet its the cooling fan.

1. If you have a search around the forum there are many superb helps with the handbrake, including a picture by picture 'how to' from Actic, which gives even me the confidence to have a go at installing a modified handbrake compensator (which is likely part of the problem):

2. May be different for the R75s (haven't looked at mine) but had this problem with my previous Vectra saloon. Had to get the back seat up to get at and release the securing bolt. Is the seat trapped too far to do that?

3. If it's a mournful sounding wail for about 1 second, my garage say its a little bit of slippage on the air-con belt and 'nothing to worry about' - yes, famous last words :-)
