Hi all, I fitted a webasto heater today (without timer at the moment). It seems as though the pump sets going everytime a door or the bonnet is opened and also when the ignition is switched on. It only runs for a few seconds - is this normal? The other thing is, I fitted the fuel pump with out priming, will it prime itself or will I need to get a syringe and pump the lines with fuel?
Will the heater only start with the ignition on and when its cold?

Thanks

The FBH appearing to run when a door is opened, plus possibly other weird occurrences, are indicative of a faulty PCB - talk to FrenchMike, he can fix them.

The default FBH installation will only operate when ambient is below about 5C, and when the coolant is below 77C, and when the engine is running.

You can prime them by repeatedly using a manual over ride, to try to start it, then every third attempt (because it goes into lock-out), pulling and refitting fuse 8 to reset it.

But you are wasting your time until the PCB has been repaired. For the time being, unplug the 6pin then the 2 pin plug.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
