Before you put anything back, make you you have definitely found the source of the leak - I went mad with multiple buckets of water, garden hose etc. I suggest you do the same to ensure you don't have to do it all over again.

You may have more than one leak!! I did, so don't assume that there is only one source of water ingress, there may be many!

The plug you describe sounds like the one that does ABS signal and remote interface for the Highline sat nav, although I could be wrong.
Could you list your points of water ingress that you fixed please?

I had a crack.gap in the seam sealant in the LH upper plenum area, rear light seals x2, rear wing chrome strip clips (many!), under the boot seal via capilliary action, boot hinge... think that's it!!

Thank you, was the crack in the seam sealant obvious to find in the plenum?

Nope - I poured several buckets of water into the upper plenum and found a small drip coming down the metalwork inside. Very very difficult to detect, but after using a good amount of seam sealant in that area the drip stopped. As the amount coming in was so small, it must have been a chronic leak.

I think this leak could only happen when the upper plenum is blocked and there is very heavy rain/washing the car.

Here is the area, it is the N/S upper plenum area. Sorry about the poor quality. For some reason the photo is on its side - it needs to be rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

To the left of the photo, in the shadow, is the black scuttle panel. Nearer the back of the shot is the bonnet stay and hinge, and you can see the drain tube in the middle of the shot. I put sealant right into the back corner and all along the side, as I wasn't sure of the exact point of the leak, but doing this stopped it.
