I have to get it fairly dry before it comes into the conservatory as that is furnished and carpeted itself. Right now it's draped over a cultivator in an out building. Once the sun comes out it will be moved into the sun again.
It may take time but we will get there .................................................. ............................. eventually.

Morning Kevin!
When I sorted the boot leak on Ed last year, I had to dry the boot carpet out and ended up putting it against our heated towel rail in the bathroom and even then, it took 3 days to dry out! So if you have a radiator in your bathroom, vinyl on the floor and strong clothes horse, I would get it in your there! |

Fat chance of that the carpet is just too unwieldy to manhandle through the house to get there. We have shower room which is of course all waterproof flooring as dad is disabled so it's used every day. With the carpet in there he would not be able to get in there.
Might sound like a nice idea but it's unworkable.

Rather than using our condensing drier for drying washing (expensive), I set up in the util a series of washing lines. To that I then added a dehumidifier and a separate fan to move the air around the room. The later setup drys clothes almost as fast as the drier and does so at a fraction of the cost of the drier. Both the fan, to move the air and dehumifier, to dry the air, are important to quickly drying things out.

Clothes dry faster in wind than sun, so puitting a fan-heater in the out-building on cold just blowing air around it would speed the drying process.

Sean did mention that he had carpets butif he has any in Aubergine he did not say but I am afraid the postage would be rather high due to size and weight. Not the easiest thing to post I am thinking.

Ahhh well just drove 11 miles home in poring rain and yes I can see some damp spots:-
This rubber bung seems to be damp around the base in the passenger footwell. same drivers side. This "seam" in the O/S rear foot well also had some damp along the edge. The boot seems all dry though so is my floor leaking?
