Help Needed, Smoking on Acceleration.
I know this has been covered before but I don't know what to do anymore.
My car is the MG CDTI with the 160 remap. Mileage is 141,256 miles. On either blipping the throttle or sticking your foot down not too heavily but hopefully you get what I mean, I get white/grey smoke and it's noticeable in the rear view mirror. List of things done; Viton rings have been replaced. I do have the EGR bypass kit fitted. I have a genuine Rover Cat fitted, (it did have a de-cat pipe but the MOT people failed it for that last year) It runs smoothly, no loss of power. Talking to Matt yesterday who used to own the car before me, he said it has always smoked. But this year the MOT people are not going to like it doing that and it will mean a fail. Do I start changing the Maf or injectors?

Neil buy some Forte injector cleaner and a fuel filter.
Remove the old filter and pour the diesel back into the tank. Fill the new filter up with the Forte and refit. Turn the key to pos 2 and allow the pumps to prime. Then crank the car allow it to run for 10-15 seconds then switch off. Leave the car overnight, come out in the morning, start her up and take it for a good old "Italian Tune Up" down the A38 and back. That should do the trick!

Update; Fuel filter ordered. I have some Liqui Moly Purge which is unopened so I presume that will be good enough.

Is the maf plugged in? Mine is unplugged and smokes a little bit with a quick blip or floor from idle but doesn't when I plug my goosed maf back in.
PCV filter is the other thing to check |

Another question: is the engine getting fully up to temperature?

PCV filter - I have the BMW replacement, the plastic unit. Yes it is as I have the Renault 5 thermostat in the top hose.
