Default Don't like electrics

Drivers Side light bulb died. Came up on the dash. Changed the bulb but it didn't work. Changed it for another bulb but it still didn't work. Took the bulb out cleaned the contacts and pushed the terminals closer together. Tried both of the bulbs and it still didn't work.
That is as far as my skill set goes. The other side light works no problem.
Has anyone got any suggestions? I haven't a multi tester.
ALL suggestions WILL be gratefully received.

Buy a multi meter. Honest, they are really useful.
Have you one of those small screwdrivers with a bulb in the handle?
Clean contacts of bulb holder. Put "none" working bulbs in the other bulb holder to make sure they work

Never thought of that.
I'll try the good bulb from the passenger side. Then try the other bulbs in the passenger side light to test them. I dare say new bulbs may not work. Cheers.
Will let you know tomorrow, weather permitting.

I remember coming home with two magnetic torches stuck to the wings on a Rover 3500S that had "lost" its lights!

To those who are interested. I took the working side light bulb and fitted it to the other side light. Didn't work. Fitted it back and the bulb worked. Something wrong with the wiring I'm guessing. Any help please. What to check next.

Electrikery has never been my fortay but I would start with the fuse then check the bulb holder (with a multimeter)then the wires to the bulb holder then chase the wires back to the next connector and check there after that I would be calling my mate who is a sparky

It might be worth checking the wiring behind the o/s headlamp, as per this post...

Would there be a separate fuse for the drivers side side light?

No.

There are no fuses in the individual supplies to lamp units except the reversing and front fog lamps.
