The Death of Football?
When I was young, I used to support Liverpool FC and watched football all the time. Now I don't care/know if Liverpool win or lose and I hardly ever watch football.
I was thinking why this is and plain and simple it isn't on the box any more. I know it has been like this for a long time, but there seems to be less and less. Premier league game, can't remember the last time I saw a match. League Cup (Milk) final wasn't on FA Cup saw a bit of the game last night, quite fancied watching the Chelsea game tonight - not on. Presumably everything is on Sky now and the only thing left is Champions League. The weird thing is, what with modern technology, HD, massive screen home TVs etc footie fans seem destined to watch football by way of text updates on the internet. Something is seriously screwy here! Unless you want to buy Sky... I always thought football was a national sport, but even that (as well as everything else) has been nabbed and held to ransom... Sorry, that off my chest |

The sooner it dies in this Country the better!
Then maybe it can go back to being a game played for people within the catchment area of the Club who are interested in the game rather than which Supercar they can buy this week, with their over the top wages! |

We live not far from Bournemouth football club and people park by our house and walk over to the ground. In recent times, never been too busy on match day, but recently it has been like a zoo outside on match day, now that Bournemouth are flying (relatively) high. (Although they have lost the last three matches!!) Been to one game, and they say it is a family game, but it was basically 3,000 people shouting ****** for two hours!!!! |

Football used to be about the guy in the street getting his footie on a saturday watching players who on the whole were from their own area or at least own country but now money has changed everything .
It.s so much easier to watch your team at home without the hassle of what matchday brings. |

Me too. Saturday, at Anfield. Monday, speedway at Stanley Stadium. Why do Liverpool now play so many games on Sundays?
