My engine did not turn over when cold as well as warm and my camshaft sensor had failed again.

First of all Ken I have a dealer launch car too and the fuel filter separation problem does not apply to us. This is what RAVE says about the sensors: If the camshaft sensor fails whilst the engine is running, it will continue to run normally. However once the engine is stopped, the camshaft sensor signal is required to determine sequential fuel injection (RAVE's description) so it will not restart. In many people's experience this happens only when the engine is hot, but I think that it's dangerous to assume that it cannot affect a cold engine as well. The crankshaft sensor signal is necessary for ignition and fuel injection timing. It is also used by the ECM to energise the fuel pump relay during cranking. Quote:

Thank you all -Having read all the suggestions and scouring the forum i will start by changing the Crankshaft sensor and the Camshaft sensor. Most of the car is still utilising original parts so after 18 years a few failure/s has to be expected!
So glad that it decided to fail after i got home from the airport and not in the terminal car park, Germany. |
