Default Rust

It comes to all our cars perhaps no matter the make, rust.
Particularly frustrating is the heads of bolts that rust so badly no spanner, socket, grips or extractor will grip the damn thing.

Needs to be a service schedule for bolts under the car!

Open to suggestions on how to prevent the new bolt head rusting

A coat of old engine oil, waxoyl, even vasaline smeared over the threads/head will protect against rust.

does ACF50, waxoil etc wash off, as the heads are exposed to road spray?

ACF50 doesn’t wash off easily, it’s a product favoured by bikers. It’ll need periodic reapplication (at annual service should be fine) to maintain the best protection.
