It was a good read, sounds like he really enjoyed the 3 - wouldn't mind trying one myself .

Where do they get the figures from and are they based on delivered cars or ordered cars? I know my dealer alone is in double figures for orders.

I was in my local dealer 2 weeks ago & they had 2 in the showroom, went there a day or so later & they had had 3 more delivered (all sold).

I like the MG3 a lot & wasn't in the market for a new car until I saw a new Ford Fiesta ST2 in a dealer recently & got wowed by it & it's performance. Problem is I test drove the MG3 later but you really can't compare the two except for size as the MG3 is nearly half the price but I have got a love for the Performance & features of the Fiesta (never thaught I would say that about a Ford lol)
I drove the MG3 & it is a lovely little car & good value for money, they just need to do a HOT version.

Had a look on .org. Those figures are very misleading, that's just registered cars. Considering I was FIRST to order from my dealer back in September and picked it up 3 days before the end of October and it was one of the first 10 off the line for a customer........

With a 6 week lead time and advertising only just coming into view true representations should be made by the end of January.

How is the figure mis-leading, as it's for Registrations and NOT sales?

If MG MOTOR UK, had built up a stock of launch cars (as is customary) then they would have registered more!

MG MOTOR UK, seem to be running their operation on a wing and a prayer and only ordering cars from China, once they have customer orders for them!

Sadly, if they continue to run the UK arm like that, then it is doomed to failure!

The SMMT don't class a car as being "Sold" until it is registered and not when it is ordered, as the customer can always cancel between the order and delivery!

However, if you're not used to Motor Trade terminology, I concede that it could confuse the normal punter!

However, I do refer to my original point, that if MG MOTOR UK had ordered more cars for the launch, they would have had more than 36 registrations by now!
