My father, my hero is sadly no longer with us, we lost him yesterday, all very sudden.

We don't think is was covid, but instead a heart attack, he collapse at home. I received the call from my mother, I arrived with the ambulance crew, but sadly it was too late.

They believe he didn't have covid, what we do believe is a change in his medication was the cause of his death. Only last week my father phoned me to say that his GP had stopped his Warfarin and changed it to a different drug, all due to covid19. My father wasn't happy, or his nurse, his nurse said this isn't a good idea and that he mustn't stop taking the Warfarin. The stopping of Warfarin is the latest craze that effects the handling of covid19, its meant to protect patients from covid, not having to go out to have their regular 2/4 week blood tests is the reason, the replacement drug doesn't require regular blood tests.

Its not like my father to show that he's worried about something, but for my mother to call me yesterday and say this new drug is making my father I'll was enough to panic us. I called his GP yesterday lunchtime to explain, his GP said not a problem I will put him back on Warfarin. I collected the meds from the pharmacy at 4:00pm and dropped them off at my parent's, we had a little chat, my father said he would be OK by tomorrow, and that I would call them later. 6:00pm my mother calls me and says dads collapsed.

It looks to have been a severe heart attack, we reckon due to the change in his meds, the nurse was right, not to stop the Warfarin, she knew it wasn't a good idea.

Now I have a frantic heart broken mother who is also I'll herself, my father was her carer and without him caring for her, my mother isn't going to want to carry on.

My father was only 71, a builder all his life, he had a reputation of doing the work of ten men, he would work a 6/7 day week, and never took a sicky ever. He had a heart of gold, he would help anyone in need. On his travels he would stop and give money to the needy, to anyone he thought that needed it, he would hand them £10, £20.

The world has lost another great man, I'm gonna miss you dad, my hero.
RIP.
