Default Diesel Camshaft Sensor

My CDT has an intermittent starting problem which is becoming annoying. Thought I would start by changing the camshaft sensor before shelling out for injector testing. Sensor prices on ebay seem to range from £20-£75, is it a good idea to get one which includes the cable like in the below link or is replacing the cable not usually necessary?

Cheers

It’s more likely to be injector leakback, get that checked first.

Thanks Trikey. Is a leak back test a big job for a garage to do i.e more than an hours labour?

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the link, however I think the chances of me being able to remove the injectors without damaging them or then being able to work out which injectors are problematic are pretty slim. I will order a kit and then see if I can find a local club member who can assist.

cheers
Rich
