Smile Cigarette lighter

Hi having recently acquired my 05 CDTi 2.0 Auto as possibly an upgrade (possibly) from my loved Tomcat, I am trying to sort some niggles that came with it most of which I found the answer to hear, apart from my cigarette lighter stuck out, is there anyway to get it to go back ? or do I need to take the whole unit out to fix it. Any help much appreciated

Gently push the cover or flap down slightly and then it will spring back, they annoyingly stick.

Upgrade from your Tomcat - wash your mouth out
Do you still have your Tomcat? There are one or two on here.

As above regards your cigar lighter, wiggle the cover about gently and it should push back in.

So is his Kev. It's just stuck in the 'out' position as occasionally happens with them.

Did say possibly upgrade lol. Still got it at mo but age and infirmity (me that is) mean it will have to go soon.

As for lighter flap ( cigarette or cigar) absolutely solid no movement at all just as it was when I picked it up.
Wander wether I could get at by taking blank cup holder side out

Try gently easing the flap slightly more open (couple of mm).Once it has moved forward slightly then try easing it closed. This has worked on mine a couple of times.

What engine does your Tomcat have?

Will try moving it again tomorrow, live in hope it will work.

Tomcat is 2.0 NASP Nightfire Red and has been most reliable car I’ve had

I know that VVC, I was just being presumptious with the descriptive word for the same item i.e. cigarette = down market, cigar = upper market.
