I am able to check my boot as I have the carpet/board out while I look for smaller rain leaks.
Using my fingers feeling around the height of the full sized tyre seems the same height as the general height of the metal boot floor. My guess is when I have a space saver in the boot and am at the airport and put those heavy biggest size suitcases on the carpet/board that the board bends down enough to let the cases into the boot. When I have a full sized tyre under the gap does not allow these biggest size cases in the boot. |

The space saver only doesn't fit the front if you have the big brakes. Not sure if this was MGZT180/190 only or all 2.5s?
I have a full size spare 215/55x16 and it fits fine, with the accessory tray in there too. I kept looking on eBay for a matching forks style wheel to use as a spare, and ended up with a set of 4. You can save a search and get email notifications if one comes up. |

Thanks to everyone who responded to my query.
A decent wheel is (or should be) on its way from the west country to the south coast. Not many of them on ebay, and I bought the best looking of them. Derek. |
