Default Details on Inertia cutout

Keith,

Hopefully will be able to swap bits this afternoon, as for the inertia cutoff, I presume that is for shutting down the engine after a major bingle, this was only involved in a small one and has been driven quite a bit since. Q's if the inertia cutoff is set off, wouldn't this have been picked up when the guy with the professional code reader was hooked up? or is it a manual reset.

Many thanks;

Geoff G

Define professional? it may well be absolutely no use at all on our cars very few third party tools are except for very basic stuff

There are not any pump related diags on testbook other than the cumulative input form the LP fuel sensor and chances are the inertia switch just interrupts the power to the pumps or to their relay so the only possible fault code would be a LP fuel one.

Default Well he had some reasonable gear

The guy that came has some sort of scan tool, big red & black box with whole lot of different modules + a laptop. He did admit that he couldn't diagnose all codes or reset them but.......

Anyway, checked the voltage outputs on the fuel sensors, the input @ rest with ignition off was about 6v on both, output about 1 - 1.5 v, With ignition on & pumps running between 4 - 6v; so presumably that checked out ok.

Next step is swap out the ECU & ignition system and see if it runs on a cloned system!

Regards, Geoff G

I assume from all your grief the existing key still works if so you need to go along with your V5 proof of ID etc and order one Lates can get them, obviously all dealers providing parts can as well
I expect any X part service centre can

You then need to get it coded to your car on Testbook.

I am very confused here.
After your initial checks on fuel flow, why did you jump to the ECU as the most likely problem area? Was this because of the error code? Also, how did you get your hands on a spare ECU to try?
