Default DVLA license return

I returned my old license, when the replacement arrived, cut in half as requested by DVLA and waited for an acknowledgement. It never came, so wrote to DVLA via their enquiry system. I had an email back saying that they no longer acknowledge receipt of the old license! The wording (and spelling) was as if written by someone who had English as a second (or possibly third) language! (probably was!). Note to self - use a tracked delivery in future. There's a lot of personal data on your old license!

I have never returned a licence , and have never been chased. Still have my original provisional one in a lovely hardback red book, and my last paper one before I had to go digital.

Mine is dated 1967, but I think they went on into the 1970s.

Every three years once you reach 70! Check if you are getting near folks! (Or gone over - Oops!) Many have forgotten it!

I got one of those in 1967! I also had a brown one for heavy goods too! My dad got one and he had never passed a test - apart from in the army! He got his HGV class 1 on the grandfathers rights scheme (still got me to do the reversing for him!).
