Fan Pack / Air con problems

My recently acquired Rover 75 connoisseur se auto has a fan pack problem.
A service engineer's report states"Fan pack N/W on two speeds (1 is air con mode)"
The fan still works as I can hear it cut in when staitionary in traffic. The air con does not work.
I tried to get Halfords to recharge the air con as it had zero pressure but they failed.
Has anybody come up against this problem and can offer a solution?

It comes up at least once a day. Search 'fan failure' and you'll find everything you need. In this case, a new fan most likely.
