Meter recommendation anyone?
I need/want to buy a multi meter mainly for use on the cars. Can anyone recommend a good make that has comprehensive features?
Thanks in advance Mike

CPC have some good offers in their bargains section at the moment.
www.cpc.co.uk For car work, I'd stick with a fairly cheap meter: most of the time you want to check volts are there, or a circuit is complete. If you want a good meter, Fluke are hard to beat and pretty bombproof but cheap they are not. For car work a cheaper one means you don't worry if you break it or get it oily. |

As allready mentioned, Fluke is about the best in my opinion - bit pricey for home use!

depending what you want to measure, annalogue meters tend to work quicker than digital ones - if you are measuring fluctuating readings

tbh I'm a right amateur here but I envisage using it for things like testing voltage across battery, checking for current/no current in cables etc. Nothing to complicated as I don't do complicated

I go with keith for the argos jobbie, Fluke are the business and will last a nuclear winter, but I'm thick with electrics and it would be a waste.
Worth getting the temp function more usefull than you imagine
