Unhappy Air con problem 1.8

The bottom crankshaft pulley has worn through the flexible pipe from
condensor to compressor ! no aircon now !
Assuming this pipe is available whats the easiest way to get to the
condensor ? is it take the front off (facelift model ) or take out
the radiator ? Do we have any pic,s on site to look at ? Thanks

Hi Geoffd,

Welcome to our home.

Although not the same engine (mine is the KV6) I had to replace my compressor. The RAVE disc tels you to remove passenger side front wheel and arch cover and access through there. Needed to remove belly panel on engine to get to physical bolts that hold compressor in place so maybe you could do it all from there. I must tell you it was an absolute nightmare to get at. Do you have a RAVE disc? If not i will look on mine and let you know if any difference.
come back to me...

As an aside we are having a minimeet in south yorkshire shortly (next weekend), just a chance to put names to faces etc. Just realised I have never met ANYONE (unless in passing at Holker) on the list!!,why not come along, have a coffee and meet some new friends, there are currently 15 cars attending (wifeys are coming along too with their knitting)

OK People who have said they will be attending so far in no particular order, hope I've got this right.

HI Dave
will try to make meet on 17 th ! you can then show me how good these 2.5 engines are -- what I should have bought !
Back to my problem -whats a Rave disc ? the 2.5 engine is a
different layout to the 1.8 but getting my spanners on the condensor may be the same .
