I do shift work, so probably the best time now would be next Monday when I'm off.......

Ok mate,no probs, any time when you're free is fine with me,if you'd prefer to sort it after you're decorating is fine,as obviously it would be better to do it in daylight,so I'll leave it to you, whenever you are ready.

Well Big Dave has been and gone, (nice to meet you at last) traced the problem to the plug on the end of the air bag, It looks like when the plug was made up in the factory, the wires were twisted tightly and as a result one of the wires was under tension. Coupled with the backwards and forwards of the seat and the drivers weight (Not offence Dave !!) the wire had snapped clean off on the end of the pin. Hence why it was intermitant.
I did manage to solder it back together, but the ideal solution would be a new blug spliced on (anyone got a seat air bag thats deployed??) The other point is that the plug part of the connector has a black shroud on it. If you check, on the underside of the shroud is to little pimples that make contact on the pins. I suspect that this is the reason that air bag warning lights come on when the shroud isn't quite pressed home...... Dave, any more problems, give me a call.

Airbag warning light
Hi Greeners..
Did you solder the broken wire onto the pin, and still leave the plug. When I changed my seats I took the opportunity to permantly cure the problem. I chopped off the plug and soldered the wires, covering the joints in shrink wrap. If I ever need to remove the seats again I guess I'll have to remake the joints. Dave T |

Soldered the pin back onto the wire. I'm not a big fan of chopping the plugs off and making it a permenant fixture.
