Getting a severe dose of Déjà vu.....

Guess what according to the Factory in China .. it got a faulty GPS Board!!

Havn't I bin there done it on the last one!! ?

The only difference is this actually seems to have a GPS fault not like the first unit. ?

Now with it all taking so long , all the supposed protections timescales with Ebay and Paypal are long gone . so I have to go with the flow here!!

At least for the moment !!! all the rest is working oK.

Long time since I posted on this..

But been through the mill a bit with it.

Got the New GPS board fron China ( yes for this 2nd replacement unit as well ) a fortnight or so back ..

Fitted it .. piece of cake , getting good at it now .

found the top of the DVD player inside was bent ( during its build in China)
and thats why the disc mechansinm was a bit stiff.

Tweaked it straight and all ok ..

Left unit partially in bits for only a day or so ... and in this time the grandkids came to vist, got on the PC here! .. same table !! knock over the tray, lost a few screws and broke a ribbon cable clip ....

went looking for the rope & stool!! .

But after a few days got the will back a bit and put it back to together.

But would not see the SD card .. nothing wrong with the card. .

left it again.

this morning .. a bit refreshed I got into it again.

managed after few attempts got the ribbon to lock in , seems it was the
SD card reader ribbon.( the one the lil darlings broke!)

and .....and

its works ... yippee!!! ..

GPS is seeing satelites and IGO knows where i am !!

Wonder how long for ???

Chris

Been wondering should I keep it now ?? or get shot just in case ??

you do tend to lose confidence in things ?

But at least the radio reception is superb, well when its working
( been following the other threads), with the Zt's standard screen aerial.

Hope I don't regret saying this .

Chris
