Default Will they Nest?

For the last couple of years a pair of Canadian Geese have nested and raise a family on the island in our large pond.

A couple of days ago a pair of Swans arrived. The Geese are not here.

I know Swans normally nest in the same place but I thought I saw one tugging at the foliage as if making a nest this morning. Wonder if they will nest or if they are just visiting, we have had a single swan visit for about a month in the two previous years but I thought later in the year.

Would be great if they nest and have young. Such pretty birds.

yes, quite true. We rarely go into the field. The farmer and his son do most days as they normally have sheep in it. No sheep there at the moment as the farmer is letting the grass grow in preparation for spring and having lambs.
