Thanks for that recommendation, much appreciated.

I still have some low cost fault code readers in stock.

The Cr1 works on the later 2003 and later diesels and petrol models from 2000.

The Cr2 also works on the Vectras as these use the can bus.

They are more useful than a multimeter!!!
