Similarly, and now that we have moved on to other boot racks, I have a second boot lid for my MG-B; in the right colour, but has the later telescopic opening prop arm bracket.

Unfortunately I never did buy a factory rack, at the time.

Pattern ones are now quite a lot of brown drinking vouchers.

Default rack

I think it looks nice - adds a certain 'je ne sais quoi' to the vehicle. Rather fancy one myself, was going to buy one but our BRG got in first! Takes an expert to fit it though by the looks of it. So if anyone has another one? Plus the chrome studs look nice when it isnt on the car.

It doesn’t take an expert to fit! Put the template on the boot, drill it open the holes up and bolt it on.

Well done for taking it on Josh, even with a template it must have been a strange feeling to be drilling into a panel.I sort of know how how you must have felt. I had a sharkfin fitted and even as an observer it made me nervous watching someone drill a hole in the roof, luckily all went well.

Jennifer,
The kit comes with a choice of chrome or black plastic blanking studs, for when the rack is not fitted.

Joshes original post shows both.

Regards

Mike

Thumbs up

Good to see a 75 with the best wheels for the type fitted and contrary to what some might think the boot rack does serve a practical purpose:

It can be utilised as an anti-tailgating device.

I think it looks ok. Nearly bought one when Rimmer were selling them off cheap a few years ago. Got a Rover/MG rear spoiler fitted instead.

Not a fan myself ,but each to his own ! Does it restrict your rear view mirror at all ... I am much more impressed at the fabulous job you have done on the 75 . What a credit to you ... absolutely brilliant. Thanks for sharing this with us ...

I was wondering that myself. Had a drive of it today and it doesn’t really when driving just the high level brake light shines off it….

Thank you. I assume you saw the old girl when I started the restoration…. She’s a little different now! Hopefully a lot more work will happen soon to tidy her up even more.

Thank you
