Hi Crofts, just received the door finishers, They are brilliant! the quality of the chrome is superb. I can't wait to get them fitted ( now where did I put the clear silicone)

Once again a big thank you for your efforts in making this possible.

OK - they're fitted (picture to follow hopefully) but BOY what a fiddly job.

Unless you are a COMPLETE stranger to the concept of "cack-handedness" please can I implore you to think very carefully before going the silicon route.

I speak as someone whose driver's door, door handle, window, fingers, shirt and finisher were ALL covered in the thrice bedamned stuff

My own opinion of course, but unless you are completely confident in your own abilities....

Let's just say it took me a solid hour of cleaning and the sufferance of SWMBO's displeasure before I was in a position to start again

Something I found to be useful was to lock the doors first. This enabled me to pull the door handle outwards to its fullest extent and wedge it with a small block of wood without the door popping open and was a great aid to aligning the finishers and getting them into location without the tape instantly catching.

Now they are fitted, I'm as pleased as a dog with more than the standard issue of tails

Cheers Dave - a great project. Thanks again for your tenacity.

Presumably you finally went the No More Nails tape route then Paul? Did you use the strips or the roll if you don't mind me asking?

Eammon (CDTi) sent me a reel of tape which I used. Seems to have done the trick - they haven't fallen off yet It wasn't "no-nails" but seemed of good quality.

Ah, I see. I think I shall go the adhesive tape route also, seems less of a palaver than the silicon!

If you're not cack-handed, the silicon would be the preferred method I think. However, speaking for myself

Anyway - here you go - VeeKay seems to have changed colour in the very awkward sunshine:-

Oh - the finisher IS central in picture 2 - it's just a trick of the light and shadow.
