drove through wet tar
last week I drove through wet tar on new surfaced road due what I think was lack of direction/cones etc several other cars drove through after me as well the tar has covered around the wheel arches sprayed side trims skirts speckled all the doors of the car but around the wheel arches I think its gonna be almost impossible to remove its a good 2/3mm think hardened tar Im looking to claim off the council
a little help and guidance would be greatly appreciated currently Im filling out the claim form and am upto the following question: Please state extent of any damage remedial action being requested? I have not had anyone look at the damage done so Im unsure of what the remedy to this would be cheers for any help dan |

That's bad. I remember my dad claiming off the council as one of his alloy wheels was damaged from a large pot hole, but the council wouldn't take any action but funnily enough pretty quickly filled in the pot hole

Hope so as doesn't sound good. What if you soak the tar in wd40 or tar remover, might slowly come off.

Ive heard of this but best wait to see if they will sort it out for me it could get expensive for them though getting it off the arches and trims will be a nightmare

Try and get hold of some 'tardis' its good stuff.
Spray on and wait, maybe agitate it slightly but it should start to disolve it.
