3D printer
Been thinking of buying a 3D printer, been doing lots of research on the subject and it seems that the technology has moved on leaps and bounds since first introduced and more importantly ... the prices have dropped considerably.
Great for producing hard to get / obsolete parts for suitable applications within the motor industry too. Anyone have any experience with these ? |

Heard the same thing from lots of youtubers about the Anet8, not the best out there obviously but apparently really good for the money.
Would be brilliant for replicating 'hard to get' parts such as ..... the right side bumper exhaust trim for the 75! and then maybe plating or painting it to match? |

Yup got an A8 myself, upgraded it over the years, if you get one you need a PROPER PSU cover (which you can print) a mains switch and 2 mosfets. You can run without but they can be dangerous if you dont do those 3 upgrades. Don't leave it to print until you have fitted those bits, always keep an eye on it when printing, there is no thermal cutout on the standard firmware, so also consider upgrading the firmware to Marlin. See the video here for the above upgrades.

I wonder if it would be feasible to 'print' the plastic grill parts for the V8 bumper? Seems like people with towing hooks reverse into them and damage them quite easily. Anyone with advice on that? They are quite big though, not sure what the dimensions of 3d printed items go up to?
