Many years ago, we had a typing pool at work (remember those?) and one of the typists had a Tarrantula. She bought the skin cast in one day and without saying anything, left it sitting on the photocopier.
There were quite a few of us who needed a change of trousers that day!! Cliff

It's my twin grandkids sixth birthday party this afternoon and we've got spiders and snakes coming to that ..... I'm thinking it's going to be the quietest kids party on record.

Isn't it strange that so many people have a fear of these creatures. I don't think anyone's come up with a rational explanation for it, have they? After all, I'm fairly sure there's only one actual venomous spider in the world, Australia I think. Any spider might bite you if it feels threatened (even house ones) but the worst bite, including tarantulas, is like being stung by a bee. Obviously a problem to anyone with an allergy to things like that, but no problem to the majority of us. There's one tarantula, can't remember which now, that actually fires off it's bristles at you which have a barb on them so they stick in your skin! Nice!! Sorry if I've upset anyone else with the photo's, but my heading should have warned you. Chad.

I think its the look of them and speed they move at that gets to me .
The fact i kill the suckers and another one moves in irks me somewhat. As a small child i watched a prog called the outer limits and they had an episode called the Zanties which featured spiders from outer space and it terrified me . .I blame my big brother for letting me watch it. |

George, spiders eat the things that are bad in your house, you should learn to live with them. Just pick them up and move them if you don't like looking at them ..... that's if they don't run away when you go near them.
