Again, a huge thankyou for all the kind words and advice.

Fred, i only got round to claying her yesterday, im off to wax her shortly.

she had the meguires 3 step done not that long ago, so im either claying her wrong or she wasnt that dirty from the 3 step

i took her for a nice little run today

its like falling in love with her all over again

i must admit, i never realised so many other members felt the same (apart from wanting to sell) that idea has now left my head by the way

just thought that it was me

Before you clay you need to strip off whatever is already on by way of protection so you're right down to the paint surface. Then do the claying, polishing and protecting, in that order. Polishing before waxing will give you a better shine than waxing alone.

I'm off work next week and weather permitting I'm stripping mine back and starting from the basics. I'm intending using a wheel cleaner (Bilt Hamber auto wheel) rather than clay, which I've done a trial with and found worked great. I'll then use the G3 where it will do any good and follow that with cleanser polish and autobalm.

Not entirely. Clay will usually remove anything already on the car anyway, you dont need to strip it first. The exception being ceramic sealants which often need machining off.

You really look after her, Jimbob ..... that's more often than your annual bath.

I did that on another car and found I ended up with filthy clay all the sooner and used more - cheaper to clean it then clay it, but each to their own.
