Default The joys of pot holes

A recent sunrise photo shoot in Eastbourne turned out a tad expensive thanks to the road repairs going on for miles around that area. Pot holes all over the place and unavoidable as you are down to single lane for miles....

No chance to avoid one enormous one which grabbed the front passenger wheel and pulled ROXY into the kerb, resulting in one snapped front spring, a blown tyre and two cracks in the windscreen

Had a pair of front springs fitted by APPLE MG, a new pair of Pirelli P6000's and Autoglass sorted the two cracks with that amazing resin treatment. Got some good shots at Eastbourne too

ROXY has just reached the 101,000 mark and with a Scottish holiday getting close, today I also had APPLE MG replace the Alternator belt and Aircon belt as I'd gone 11,000 miles over the recommended mileage. With new rear tyres also fitted, the old girl is ready to face whatever the roads throw at her.... as long as there are no more pot holes for a while

Thanks peeps. Yes really looking forward to the trip. We are staying in Callander by Loch Lomond and the Trassachs (sounds rude), and a friend has given me explicit details of where to photograph and what to see which really helps. Too many years since I've been to Scotland so I'm really looking forward to it. ROXY will be in Sport mode and Turbo Nutter Bast*ard setting on the Ron Box for those Highland roads, as she loves to lift her skirt and chase the tarmac on twisties as proven recently in the Lake District and Snowdonia...

As to the pot holes and state of our roads..... don't get me started

Have a look at the Local Authority's website about claiming for damage - you never know till you try. Also have a look at some of the links in my signature block.

Road tax hasn't been for road maintenance since the 1930's and insurance has never had anything to do with it.

Thank you sir. Often dip in for advice and info, and dad keeps me up to date on happenings and news which is great. The walnut bits and bobs....Well, they did not last well sadly. The door switch ones started going yellow, then split so I ripped 'em off and went back to the black plastic of original spec....

The sun visor ones followed shortly after as did the lamp surrounds, and I had to reglue the stereo ones, so to say that they did not last well would be an understatement. I've kept the fascia ones but have not have much luck in general which is a shame as I love the look. Thinking of bolting on a nice piece of wood from a 1978 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia across my fascia to really set it off, that should not curl up in the sun....

oops, a slip of the keyboard and one too many 'K' cider's me thinks...
A Scottish friend of mine heard I am heading to Glasgow as I have not been there in over thirty years and he said, 'They'll kill ya'... I think he's going to phone ahead and let them know I am inbound
