Personally I think when you put on mud flaps you might as well go the whole hog and put a hat/cushion on the parcel shelf and get out your pipe and slippers

Hence my comment about them being 'Rusttraps'.... Thanks for the link.

It was like those who put Chrome Wheelarch Covers on the older S-Series Mercs - looked nice until you decided to take them off and half the wing came off with them...!!!

I've fitted front ones to the zt and pulled them off over the first speed bump I went over taken some off them now and have no problems well worth having on as stops muck and stones from damaging the paintwork

I have fitted mg7 items to the front of mine
had to drill all holes in them to fit inc bottom hole but all ok once on and no dragging anywhere as there much smaller than the oe items

Not for me I'm afraid, apart from them being rust traps. They spoil the lines of the car.

I've had a set for years but never fitted them ..... I keep them in a box and get them out now and again to have a look at them.

I've always preferred to have mud flaps on my cars but after our diesel ones almost rubbed right through the front wing I removed them.

I still have them on the rear of both cars though.
It's a pity the front design was so poor i.e. rubbing on the wing, perhaps a smaller spat like flap would keep the much off the sides of the cars.

Oops! just spotted this post.
Yes the damage was done with the constant tugging as the flaps hit the road. Even with a good whack cut off the bottom they still hit the road so off they came.
Repairs to the front wings still looks good almost two years on now.
