Default Knocking on front end?

Hi...im getting a knocking on the nearside front suspension,wondered if there was a common fault please?...ive tried looking through previous threads but cant find anything,thanks in advance......Andy

Droplink would be my guess. Mine eats n/s ones due to lots of speed humps and dropped drain covers.

Also check the anti roll bar bushes.
Not sure how common these come up as faulty, but an easy fix.

Other things to check, that may cause knocking or rattling noises if perished:
- Lower arm ball joints
- lower arm rear bushes
- strut top bearings
- broken spring

Will do,just noticed as I was parking up that as I slowly dropped off a kerb that there was quite a loud knock as I did so too...seemed to sound as if it was bottoming out?...im going to go with the tie rods to start with,wont hurt replacing them anyhow and then see what happens.Thanks again lads

To check the drop links I find it best to undo the lower fixing very easy to detect then. It always seems to be the top link that has the play in it and I have tried levering at them but detected no movement as soon as the lower end is removed you can grasp the link and feel any play.
