hi, it doesnt say anything on the box apart from android tablet pc. There is a sticker on the back saying MODE Q8(A-1) and a bar code number. The instruction leaflet lists its OS and basic functions.

Holding the Volume up and the Start button for a while until it reboots
"should" get it back to the default settings ? .

Hi the only thing that came with it doesnt say how to do a hard reboot it just gives basic functions. Just says if it doesnt open to make sure its fully charged and try again. Only has the volume button and the power button. Ive tried power and vol up and power and vol down, ive tried holding the power button but nothing seems to work. At the moment we are charging it up to see if it works.

When you say he was bought it, is it still under 12 months warranty ?

If you do a Google search there a a few hits for Q8 (a-1), i found this

If you want to know the procedures to do the reset of your Android Netbook, here it is. 1. Turn the power off. wait for 20-40 seconds rest. Hold the Volume Down button . then press and release the Power button 2. You will be seeing a a menu that allows you to select for the option Clear Storage, plus other additional options 3 . Select Clear Storage. press Volume Down button to choose that . Press and release the Power button Confirm your choice by pressing Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO ., Once you chose YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the device. After the whole process is complete, the device will restart to its original factory settings.
