missfire, eml light and codes read
Hi, my 1.8t has a missfire, uneven tickover, not drastic but noticeable though. Just put new platinum plugs in and 2 new leads. seems slightly better and the car drives fine. The codes read are saying multiple missfire. New coils perhaps? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

I recently had an appalling misfire on my Tourer, which was related to faulty wiring to the MAP sensor, but if I hadn't had the luxury of T4 access, I would have never found the fault. I wouldn't place too much emphasis on generic OBD P codes, but it wouldn't harm to see if your Lambda outputs look ok HTH Brian. |

right now you know which cylinder is misfiring swop the coil packs over to see if the misfire stays on cylinder 4 if it moves to another cylinder then you know it is the coil pack ..

could be engine coolant tempaerture senosor, crankshaft postion sensor, air intake system/vacuum system - leaks, fuel lines - leaks blockage, injector, ngine management system wiring connection , or the ecm its self ... if not any of them its possible its the gasket has lifted between cylinders .. have you checked the plug in cylinder 4 is ok and the gap is set right 1.0 and it is not loose
