Default Holidaying in Whitby

Evening all
I've got some time off coming up, owed about 5 weeks lol

Anyway, I'm planning on having the first week of Feb in Whitby. I've found some lovely places to stay for not much money at all really, but now do I go about parking? (Mon to Fri)

It is expensive to park in Whitby (£5.50 for 3 hours near the centre) There are couple of long stay parks behind the Co-op car park (which is short stay only. Cheapest will be up on Westcliffe but its a decent hike into the town. There'll be plenty of spaces - its the weekend when the place fills up at this time of the year.
The good news is that all the chipshops WILL be open

Hi
I think street parking on Westciffe is free between October and March. As you say it's a few mins walk to the town centre. Not too bad though, about 10 mins max.

I parked on Westcliffe near the whalebones last week. The pay machines have notices on them, Parking free till March 1st. And they are covered with black bags.

And if you are travelling along the coast through Scarborough, make sure not to take avail of the local amenities, however conveniently located........it doesn't inspire much confidence really
