plus skinny tyres on basic circuits (no fancy specially developed surfaces) with no barriers etc.

You cannot compare any of them, except with their peers of the day. Hamilton is great, like Schumacher and Senna with a team built around/focused on him. I would love to see how he would do alongside Vettel, or Heidfeld etc in a Renault, or Racing Point etc. I believe he would be better than Vettel, as Vettel loses it in wheel to wheel (Hamilton copied senna, he would turn in on a driver, and if they lifted off, he did it every time, if they held out eg Mansell, he knew to watch out for them).

I think the results would be surprising.

I wasn't trying to compare him to anyone ... merely using Jim clark's 8 grand chelems (current record holder of Grand chelems in Formula 1) to signify how rare they are to get! and hence the after Clark's record number.

Need to get down to the new Jim Clark Museum sometime. Visited the old one several times when I was younger.

With this shut-down at the moment it would be difficult to get there. Maybe later this year with a bit of luck.---

Speaking of F1 at the moment & reading Vettel is parting company with Ferrari at the end of the season....er that means now with the Covid-19 lock down of sports, who do you reckon will be up next in the Ferrari seat? Riccardo or Sainz!!!!
