Dashcam
I've bought myself a nextbase dash cam and I have little or no knowledge of how to fit. Have we got an how to? I'm willing to give it a go, once I have clear instructions on how to proceed. Hope it's not difficult as I can make any job difficult.

How do you want it powered, ignition live or all the time?
Do any of the plugs behind the centre roof light have power? A long way but I think better then down the A pillar is to come down the centre pillar where the seat belts are. You can run under the carpet to the fuse box in the footwell and pick up either a permanent or ignition live. mine just hooks over the centre mirror and plugs into the centre console as I take mine from car to car macafee2 |

I too have a Nextbase in my car. I bought the permanent wiring kit from Argos (£20) and used the piggyback kit into fuse 6 in the passenger footwell fusebox. the cable tucks nicely behind the roof lining and down the trim on the A pillar. Just be very careful if you air bags in there. from the bottom of the A pillar simply peel away the door rubber and feed behind the glove box (easily removed if you want to make installation easier) be careful when plugging in the fuse piggy back and tuck the remaining wire (lots of it) behind the trim panel to the left of the passenger footwell. Don't use any of the high value fuses. Check which one you use to be safe. Dave

I have done exactly the same as NewDoc on several cars. (Although I have Pittasoft dash cams the procedure is the same) One thing that I do is wire in an auxiliary socket to plug the camera cable into. Then the negative wire goes to the most convenient ground (Usually the fuse box mount screw) and the positive wire goes to the piggyback fuse.
I just installed a cam in my wife's 2020 Subaru yesterday and the procedure was the same. Took about an hour.
