I'll do some showing both normal EGR and the bypass when I get the chance, both on the same car so there's no other difference.

Will do the same with the intake mod although I must admit on that one I'm not convinced and have reverted back to the standard one as it doesn't feel any different to me.

Will also do a set with standard air filter verses the BMC one.

You're right people want different things form their cars, I just try and see if the same result can be achieved without it costing fuel.

nice one Russ, i never tire of looking at T4 screen shots, after the leakback test I would have gone straight to a new injector - injector cleaner wouldn't have crossed my mind, fair play for even trying!

Hiya Russ.

I have untill very recently been running with my MAF off (Bosh maf fitted) and tuner on 6, I upped the tuner to 6 from 3 about a year ago, my car overfuelled on both settings resulting in a lot of soot on the rear bumper.. performance was OK though..

Just for fun, I recently put the tuner on 10

Result? the soot has more or less gone, and the car performs a lil bit better. It's still a long way from being a road rocket, but it is a very very nice car to drive by anyones standards..

*car now on 153k* ...

James depending on the Synergy version putting it on on setting 10 (early version) IIRC is full power with no mafam.

If that is so then your maf may be in acceptable spec and all that happens when you have the mafam section switched on with the other settings is that it will overfuel.

Have you tried running with just the tuning section switched on to the previous settings with the mafam section switched off?

Thanks Mark, what I say to people when there's evidence of an injector problem is to give it a try first.

For the sake of £4.99 a bottle of injector cleaner is an awful lot cheaper than a replacement injector, sometimes it may take a couple of doses to get functioning better, sometimes though they're beyond help.

It's amazing to see the improvement sometimes though.
As you can see by the results above 1 dose of cleaner reduced the inbalance caused by the number 3 injector by approx half.

As Ron says the diesel requires a good "Italian tune up" at regular intervals to keep it running well all to often they suffer especially used around town or in heavy commuter traffic.
