OP, thank you for not calling us brits. We are Britons (in the main). In Europe no one is a germ, a frog, a sprout, or any other malodourous individual.

As I have one paternal grandmother (married to an Englishman) who had two Scottish parents and grandparents, two English parents with one English paternal grandparent and one Welsh, I consider myself mongrel Celt.
Oh, and I lived in Cornwall for eight years, but don't count that.

Haaaaa!
My parents are from 'English' stock on my maternal side, and a predominantly Danish and Irish stock on my paternal side.
We used to joke with Mum that Dads ancestors rowed across and raped and pillaged hers!
But then that was many many eons ago!
I am 3rd generation Kiwi on my fathers side, and 6th generation Kiwi on my Mothers side. Mums family arrived in New Zealand at Nelson in 1840.
New Zealand is such a young country!
Rule Britannia!!

What is the issue here ? We are British by birth, or by Commonwealth....

The Welsh originated, by DNA profiling from the Croatia/Serbia region. Those tribes migrated west to, the now sunken area (Doggerland - [Google it] then onto what is now called Britain/UK. But the Welsh language has no connection to its origins. There is no contradiction, in academic circles, that Welsh is the oldest language in Europe

The others followed later....

But in my mind, it matters not where you are from, by ethnic birth or otherwise,... if you are in our lands and accept the host country then you are British... Where lies the problem ?

The last 3 days I spent with a UK naturalised Mali, 2nd & 3rd+ generation Asians (Western & Eastern) & Welsh... Oh and a few English... We got on great together and a camerarderie was a natural process...

The end of it all is that WE are all Homo Sapiens (Human) and we can all live together, regardless of race, colour or creed... It is only a sick, misguided "individuals/group" who create an issue...

Live and let live IMO..... if only others would abide by this simple "rule" of co-existance, the world could be a better place.....
