Hi Jules
I may have measured it ? if so it will be amongst the many photo's I am in the process of transferring to a 2TB Seagate outside hard drive, lately I am seeing compensators stretched more towards the 15mm side rather than say a couple of years ago when they were mostly 10-12 mm.

Thank you for returning the old ones as always also thank you to the other members below.

handyjackdaniels, Psmith, CDMF, Jackateshe Wurserk, PJICI1967, Kevein57.

Default Mind the dumb question?

Dear arctic,

How would one know if I need one of your reinforced compensators? Is there a way of telling without having to rip the car apart, and since I live on a hill, is there a way of telling before its too late.....I know when I pull the handbrake up it doesn't seem to immediately bite, but could this mean that the shoes need replacing (as far as I know, there is no mention of the shoes ever been replaced, I hope they have, but I know a few people that have 75's and do not have a clue that there is a separate mechanism for the handbrake! our last owners inability to service his car properly is quickly now catching up to us and I would love to know if there is some form of test I can carry out?).

I imagine that the compensator that you send out is just modded and not fabricated from scratch? (calculated guess, I know it makes sense).

Thankyou for any info, my cars addicted to new parts, mods and playing around with at least twice, to three times a week (i'm secretly trying to arrange an intervention before its too late. ) Someone bad mouthed my connie in front of her the other day and now the battery is flat (a new battery should arrive tomorrow, so I can get to Sean Cars garage to get my MAF sorted; mind you I guess he could tell me if the handbrake needs sorting with one???)

:xmas-smiley-024: Thankyou dude! :xmas-smiley-024:

Hi Arctic,

I think I desperately need one of these!!!

How long does it take to fit, as my MoT is next Saturday and I'm starting to get a little concerned?

Hi Graham
If it is your first time of fitting one about 45-60 minutes, because I am used to fitting them I can fit one in about 15 minutes.

But if you follow the instructions below you can not go wrong I have replied to your Pm cheers Arctic.
