Default HK Subwoofer Unit speaker query

Hello all,

I recently picked up a HK Sub Woofer unit, it contains 2 speakers in an assembly that fits under the parcel shelf in the ZT190 i have.

The problem i have is i dont know the speaker specifications i.e. Impadence and power....so no clue what amp to get.

I asked HK but they dont have any details, anyone help me?

Long ago, I came across a rough formula which converted measured resistance of a speaker, into approximate impedance. Resistance is easily measured with a meter. It went something like 5Ohm equates to an 8 Ohm impedance speaker. As they are usually built to standard impedances anyway, you only need an idea of the resistance.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Thanks Harry...

Measured the DC resistance at 2.6 so i assume this is going to then be a 4Ohm

Trying to find some info on how this number has come about i.e. 1.3, there is all sorts online

Cheers
