Jumping ship, thanks for the memories.
As the title says, we are so to speak "jumping ship"
As many of you now know I have placed my V6 on SORN for the time being which will allow me to do the cam belt etc. I intend to hold onto this one for a while yet. However the boss's 75 diesel connoisseur auto which she has had since new in 2002 will be placed up for sale soon, as tomorrow we pick up our latest addition to the "fleet" It's a Jaguar 3.0 diesel Premium Luxury in Azure Blue. She's a real stunner with only 25k on the clock. It has all the usual toys with 7" touchscreen and reversing camera which will be useful when hitching up to the Coachman. The car has a hard act to follow as I can honestly say the 75's have been the best cars we've ever owned over the last 45 years. After running the diesel for over 12 years it still looks in great condition inside and mechanically. The front wings are the only thing that lets it down but these are due to be replaced as I picked up a pair earlier this week. The main reason for changing really boils down to getting something newer and with slightly more power to tow the caravan as we intend to make more use of it now that the missus retires for the last time. (this will be her third retirement) Her patients will miss her terribly just as I have no doubt I will miss driving the 75's. I still intend to keep in touch with this forum as it has been invaluable for both receiving help and passing on help to others in the strive to keeping the marque alive and running. Later this week I should be able to post some photos (if that's ok) but in the meantime ! Thanks for the memories over the last 12 1/2 years edit Oops ! forgot to say it's an XF Last edited by Jim Jamieson; 21st December 2014 at 20:45.. Reason: Add Text |

Sorry you think you are leaving.I think and hope you will still keep on posting even if it is about the Jag.Fancy one myself to compare to the Daimler v8 250 I had back in 1976.

Always shared my 75's with eldest son since the day he passed his test aged 20, now approaching 25 he decided to buy his own car, an 09 plate Jaguar XF 3.0d auto, insured for me to drive as well, yet, I almost always take the Rover.
A longer trip may some day change my mind as Jag has Sat/Nav, but locally, easier to drive my own where everything is familiar. Was going to sell mine but current values are so low, even with service history and low miles it's hardly worth the effort to list it.
