Default leaky cooling system

hi all. jioned the club three weeks ago,thanks for the info on new remote keys.now i have a little cooling problem.i am loosing coolant from the thermostat housing where the two halves join.is this a quick fix or do i need a complete new housing. componant is near the cam at the rear of the engine under the in let maniflold.? does the inlet manifold need to be removed to repair.? thanks guys. chris

Chris , you don't say which engine you have .
1.8 k16 , v6 or diesel .? If it is the v6 , see here for a full account of the operation :

The 1800 or the 2.5 V6? they are both K series though I guess you have the 1800 4 cylinder?

Remove the inlet manifold and replace its gasket at the same time. I had what I thought was a leaking thermostat so I replaced it without removing the inlet manifold. A week later the inlet manifold was leaking.
