Default seat belt warning

Having just purchased a 2003 rover 75 club se cdt ive noticed that there is no seat belt warning light or alarm that sounds if i drive off without fitting my seat belt.
Does anyone know if this is normal or do i have a problem . Any help on this matter will be sppreciated.

Yes that's normal. No cars were fitted with seat belt warning as standard.

It wasn't fitted to models destined for the UK market. I believe it was standard on overseas models.

Cheers Stubie much appreciated. Can i just ask should the doors on a club se cdt lock automatically at speeds over 5MPH. Mine dont and according to the handbook the option is either selected or deselected by a rover dealer. Would i be have the option to select it for my car.

You would need to get the speed locking activated by a T4.

Yes it has to be done with a T4 machine by a dealer or anyone with such a machine
