I wonder if the procurement of cheap parts by all the once upon a time reliable component makers is making all the difference? It must be a viable option by the big companies, because really, they are only making, selling to make as much money as they can. They know that people think twice before complaining because if they have to send back faulty components, it is usually at your own expense.

Continued to be baffled by its misfire from cold and poor running...

...pscan diagnostic tool ordered to try and shed some more light. Shouldn't be difficult, it's only a K series, hardly a complicated engine...

Not when it's just had an alloy manifold put on John!

It's a weird one as it starts fine, then the miss gradually sets in as it goes open circuit.
Not the lambda or temp sensors as it behaves exactly the same with those disconnected.

Knocked up a couple of test pieces in readiness for the main event......

Well believe it or not, that weird and wonderful shaped pipe is a faithful facsimile of the original pipework fitted to the car almost fourteen years ago.

I have made the one for the offside front, but typically despite all efforts to the contrary, I managed to snap the bleed nipple in the OSF caliper

So there is a job for later, caliper off and drill out the remnants of the bleed nipple...........well I suppose it could have been worse

put it in the garage, shut the door and going to forget about it for a while.

Got home tonight, had dinner, went to get in the car and nip out, started up and it sounded like a tractor. Get underneath to find the section of exhaust pipe where the catalytic convertor should be missing

so I'm now pretty fed up and my car's is off the road until I can get it sorted.

2 new tyres on the back of Copperleaf 1.8L then cleaned it using my new Worxs hydroshot. Saw a member using one at nano meet in summer and decided to buy one, both cars have to be parked a way from home as my house is only accessed by a footpath. Great tool!

Cobbled a new brake pipe onto the OSF

There are a fair few compound bends in this pipe which runs from the ABS modulator to the OSF flexi.

It should be noted if you do this job using the original pipe as a pattern, it is not possible to make the final bend where the pipe exits through the inner wing grommet, as it's not possible to manipulate the pipe past the A/C pipework.

So the pipe is fitted, then the final bend made on the car
