These figures are achieved on a dyno under ideal conditions; the real world is very different. Proposed new EU legislation is being considered to give buyers real world fuel consumption figures. Some of the hybrid eco cars will fall down the economy ranks and will show that small diesels are more economical.

My IPK says ~32mpg but I don't etven believe that.
No way to get 40mpg methinks.

It's not a 190 but it is perfectly possible to get my 2.5 auto 75 over the 40mpg mark if you are incredibaly disiplined with the loud pedal, I did this using the brim to brim some time ago on a trip to birmingham early (5am) on a sunday morning and straight back (210 round trip. sticking religously to 63mph. average for the trip was a fraction over 41mpg
I nearly died of bordem. Life is far to short! besides i normaly run on LPG and never worry about MPG, that is for diesel drivers. Richard |
