I have had 41.9 mpg many a time on both my 190 ZT`s.

Now on a serious note, 20 mpg around town 38 driving from London at 80 to 100 mph.(Is what I get) Never in a million years can you get that figure quoted. As a man who sells cars, drinks in public houses etc every night and hears tales about mpg or top speed all I say is go by the book. If the book says 20 mpg and the car does 149 mph take it as gospel.
Fuel computers are gimmicks and the chap who said fill the car brim to brim from the same pump is dead on. I know retired motor engineers who worked for Peugeot test development and thats the only real way to test an individuals cars mpg.
Oh by the way my ZT has done 44k miles and has been pampered from day one.
These cars are great but weight about 2 tonnes!

Well I get a constant 39mpg from my 190, but that's on LPG, 40 mpg on petrol is not possible

Will I get shouted at if I say that I've worked out I'm getting 29 mpg in my 2.5 auto lovely?

I'm off on holiday tomorrow and and hoping for well into the 30's when cruising.

My first 160 did 36 mpg without trying but she was one hell of a strong engine, my current one did 32mpg without trying however...

I had the joy in my last job of starting work at 6am and finishing at 8pm, driving a straight motorway of 26 miles each way to work however during a stage they had road works and average speed cameras installed limiting you to 40mph over 24 of the miles I managed a solid 41.2 mpg over a five week basis brim to brim.

So it is possible, and that was in my ZT 160 that wasnt as good mpg wise as my first one.

Will be interesting to see what the new engine will do when I get it in lol

Just about the same as me Dave
On a long run around 31mpg is the norm for me (mines a tourer so probably a bit worse due to drag/weight)
P.s. my car is serviced and maintained properly and tyres inflated to the correct pressure
