Forgive me father, for I have glym'd on the sabbath
Well, since I couldn't attend the National Meet - I had to occupy myself somehow....so after a wash, a clay and a wax, I am even more intimately acquainted with the car..
Would have got more done but there's only so much time I can hide from SWMBO, and my two sprogs. Unfortunately I now know all the little areas that need looking at - ignore the lovely dings, but at least they are shiny dings! And from the good side... Gratuitous booty shot.... Inside - although didn't have time to get this done properly. The brightness betrays the fact it's a light smokestone trim / wheel. And then back round to the front and parked up ready to get dirty all over again. Not bad for a 10 year old car, just got to take care of the ding's at some point, but then, don't we all. Thanks for the kind words, using the clay took some getting used to, but really surprising as to how much it removed. Seemed to make the wax stage easier, and it's come up well, definitely worth the extra time and effort. (If anyone is interested, I used the Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay kit)
As for the Gear Knob, it was a gift from a fellow 75 enthusiast, the car came with the original black leather one, but the perspex / plastic on the top had a hairline crack so free gift made a good upgrade / replacement. |
