Angry Xenon height adjuster - Factory fitted - Damaged

Today I found out that the rear sensor on my car is damaged, i.e half of the arm mechanism is missing

What do I need to replace it? I have had new rear arms and it looks like the sensor linkage bracket that's attached to the upper arm is missing??

Any info / pics would be a great help.

The sensor works because if you move whats left of the bottom arm the lights adjust

Any body with spare parts out there? Rimmer Bro have the parts I think - RBW000020 its part of GRID001554

There are several threads about this problem. Here's one: http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=463392
I remember seeing some better photos somewhere.

As for replacement parts, this thread might help: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=99178

I bought a brand new arm from eBay, they are the same that’s fitted to the 5series. It was supplied with new ball joints.

Pretty sure the arm you described is part of the level sensor unit, it's pressed onto the spindle splines and I doubt BMW have it as a replaceable part so you'll need a new/second hand sensor assembly. The link arm (with M5 threaded ball swivels each end - dog bone some people call them) are really cheap at approx. £8-9 and readily available from BMW (someone on here will no doubt be able to quote you a part number).

Thanks people for the info, but Steve as we noticed the arm attached to the sensor only has a "C" shape at the end and looks broken off so not sure it will connect to a new arm, and as you say I need the upper arm and bracket thats missing.

But on a plus we moved what was left of the lower arm and now I can see almost 3 times further ahead, It must have thought I had an elephant on the back seat and set the lights for that really close LOL

Any traders reading this post please PM me if you have the parts I need, All of the below

Hi Jon.
Yes nice find of picture what you need is the bracket highlighted with two dots in the picture below.

The dog bone part with one dot you can get from BMW.

The arm from the main unit which we moved to check that it works, marked with three dots, we could possibly still use even though as I said the hole section for fixing the dog bone as be damaged, but we could get round that I sure.

If one of the traders as an whole unit for a good knock down price even better.

So it looks like you can get the BMW arms no problem, but the top fixing bracket is a no no as they seem to get chucked when people replace the rear arms

I have managed to source a new / old stock set from Rimmers and it did come complete with my missing bracket
